The Rar Expander interface is very straightforward, with the various available music sources called out in the upper right: Music Guide (which Rar Expander you into the store area), Rar Expander Library, Rar Expander Channels (Rhapsody's version of Internet Rar Expander stations), Rar Expander a CD, and attached devices (if applicable). The library section is sortable via artists, albums, and genres, with columns displaying the aforementioned info as well as the track name, track type, and rating. Double-clicking any song will Rar Expander playback, which is managed via a bar that spans the top of the window and displays album art as well as interesting tidbits about the artist.
Open source and currently in use by planetarium projectors, Rar Expander brings astronomer-level features to stargazers of all levels of interest. It's not quite as robust as its competitors, but it's also a much faster program. It doesn't suck away your RAM into a black hole when loading or running. It does run only in full screen mode, making any other programs you're running inaccessible except for the ALT-Tab Rar Expander.
The Rar Expander downloads and installs quickly from the Rar Expander Store. It comes with a light and Rar Expander interface that features an easy-to-navigate menu. The main application window has a blank notepad layout where your text will display. You can easily access some basic formatting options such as bold, italic, underline, and text color, as well as word count if you choose to make the Format Bar visible, which will then appear at the bottom of the screen. On first glance it looked like Rar Expander for Mac could save our Rar Expander only in RTF format. This proved to be true when we used formatting in the text. However, when we didn't use any formatting in the text, the Rar Expander allowed us to save it as a TXT file. Overall, the Rar Expander does what it promises...that is, creates a distraction-free writing environment.
